Grier is best known for his work on the Fox variety show In Living Color and the short-lived NBC sitcom DAG. He also recently competed on the eighth season of Dancing with the Stars.
Bones returns Thursday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c on Fox. Grier's appearance is scheduled to air in mid-October.
Sons of Anarchy star wants to know plot
Sons of Anarchy dvd star Charlie Hunnam has admitted that he finds it frustrating not being privy to future storylines.
He told the Chicago Tribune that he disagrees with the policy not to inform the show's actors of upcoming plot developments.
The British actor also admitted that he has to work hard to maintain his American accent while filming.
