Ricky Gervais, the creator and executive producer of The Office dvd, is building a Chinese version of the hit comedy drama.

This is simply not the 1st time the show has been remade for another country. The Office on dvd originated in the U.K., where Gervais starred as buffoonish boss David Brent. The U.S. adaptation stars Steve Carell as the regional manager of paper company Dunder Mifflin. The show has also been remade for France, Germany, Qubec and Chile.
