Private Practice: Will Sam and Addison Get Together?

In the final moments of Private Practice 's season finale, Addison (Kate Walsh) and Pete decided that he should return to his family, Violet and Lucas. Addy, in turn, ran into the arms of Sam (Taye Diggs), with whom she had done the relationship tango all season. Now that this pair has finally taken the first step, will they still be together when the show returns Thursday, Sept. 23 (10/9c on ABC)?
In my opinion, this is the final season of Private Practice, they should come to this famy no matter what happened befor. They have the duty to give this series a full finished. But i can't do anything, just wish the hope will come true. What a pity the Private Practice will be over, i will always love watching it.

NBC Comments on Carell's Office Departure; Announces 30 Rock Live Episode

NBC executives Jeff Gaspin and Angela Bromstad spoke to the press today at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, and made several announcements, while also speaking about the status of their returning series.
Regarding Steve Carell leaving The Office, Bromstad noted, "It's just publically been known that Steve is leaving, but we and the producers have been preparing for it for some time. Greg Daniels and Paul Lieberstein do have a plan as to who will replace Michael, so there will be a lot of storylines leading up to that and mystery as to who that will be. " Asked if NBC had considered simply ending The Office with Carell leaving, Bromstad said, "If we'd ended ER when George Clooney left, I think that would have been a shame. This is a tremendous ensemble cast." She added, "I would be very sad to end the show, and I couldn't go home and face my 14 year old son if I tookThe Office off the air."
The Officeis a mockumentary that documents the exploits of a paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Made up of head chief Michael Scott, a harmlessly deluded and ignorantly insensitive boss who cares about the welfare of his employees while trying to put his own spin on company policy. With an office including the likes of various peers who have their own hangups, The Office (2005) takes a look at the lives of its co-workers: bored but talented salesman Jim, his mildly sociopathic, butt kissing enemy Dwight, mildly righteous receptionist Pam, and indifferent temp Ryan...
30 Rock is going live! The October 14th episode of the comedy will be done live – and yes, the cast will perform it twice, both for the east coast and west coast airing. Asked about the thinking behind this, Bromstad said, "Tina [Fey]'s up for it. Coming from Saturday Night Live, Tina and Lorne [Michaels] are very up for it. We're doing as much as we can to bring attention to the show."
30 Rock is an American television comedy series created by Tina Fey that airs on NBC. The series is largely based on Fey's experiences as head writer for Saturday Night Live. Liz Lemon, head writer of the sketch comedy show "TGS with Tracy Jordan", must deal with an arrogant new boss and a crazy new star, all while trying to run a successful TV show without losing her mind...30 Rock
Regarding CBS moving their huge hit The Big Bang Theory to Thursdays at 8:00, where it will now face Community, Gaspin said, "I'm hopeful that there's room for two comedies. I think they're different. I think their audiences are different." As to whether they would consider moving Community, he said he felt Community's fans were, "accustomed to it ] Thursdays at 8:00.We're going to wait and see what happens. "
Asked if there were any lessons learned from Heroes that come to mind as NBC embarks on the superhero-themed The Cape, Bromstad said, "I think that Heroes was a great show. We had four tremendous years of that. If we could replicate that, we could. Heroes was so much about the discovery of their powers and that was sort of the premise of their first year. The Cape is more of a procedural. This character doesn't have superpowers. He's trained in a way that he's able to manipluate things."
Having put it on hold last season, NBC will go forward with a pilot for a US remake of Prime Suspect, with Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey's production company Film 44 (Friday Night Lights) behind it. Berg and Aubrey will be executive producers on the show, which will be written by Alex Cunningham (Desperate Housewives).

It's Always Sunny, Sons of Anarchy Return Dates Set

FX has just announced their fall lineup for 2010. We have three hit original shows returning in September, and a brand new dramedy series premiering as well.
The critically acclaimed drama Sons of Anarchy kicks off the network's fall season on Tuesday, September 7th, followed by FX's new comedic drama series Terriers - from The Shield 's Shawn Ryan -- which debuts the following evening on September 8th.
After Carrie Underwood tied the knot with her hockey player beau Mike Fisher, the American Idol champ traded Georgia for the Pacific – and the wedding gown for a bikini.
The new Mrs. Fisher is wading in the waters of Bora Bora on her honeymoon, donning a two-piece and a newlywed glow. The country queen is enjoying time with her hubby: "We could not feel more blessed to have found each other,"Few subjects, and certainly no animal, has been treated with so much written eloquence as the Dog, nor do we grudge the lavish encomiums heaped upon him, for they are well deserved. That we do not follow in the usual course pursued by writers on this subject there are several reasons. First, the felt want of ability to give expression to our views and feelings in language at once sufficiently laudatory and appropriate; secondly, that the several writers who have assisted in compiling this book may be trusted to do justice to the breeds they treat of in better terms than we can; and, lastly, that as the book is intended to be in great part descriptive of the varieties as seen and classified at our dog shows, and therefore a practical work, both for the experienced exhibitor and the tyro whose love for the dog needs no stimulus, panegyrics on his good qualities are not needed...

Kosovo's Disastrous Precedent

the ethnic-Albanian authorities of Serbia's breakaway province of Kosovo unilaterally declared independence against the will of the U.N Security Council and in contravention of my country's constitution. We made it immediately clear that we would never recognize the unilateral declaration of independence, implicitly or explicitly. This position will not change. Serbia will continue to use all diplomatic resources at the disposal of a sovereign state to oppose Pristina's attempt at partitioning our country. No democratic and proud nation—whose territorial integrity is under threat—would act differently.
From the onset of this grave crisis, we responded to the unilateral declaration of independence peacefully. In October 2008, the General Assembly of the United Nations overwhelmingly approved a resolution seeking the legal opinion of the International Court of Justice on the lawfulness of the unilateral declaration of independence.
After many months of deliberation, the court delivered its findings. It neither endorsed the view that this unilateral declaration of independence was a unique case, nor Pristina's claim that Kosovo is a state. Moreover, the court failed to approve the province's avowed right of secession from Serbia, or any purported right to self-determination for Kosovo's Albanians.
Instead, the court chose to narrowly examine the language of the unilateral declaration of independence. This strictly technical approach made it possible to say that the text of the declaration itself did not violate international law. The Kosovo Albanian authorities are deliberately misinterpreting the court's views as a legalization of their attempt at secession.
This may produce extensive and deeply problematic consequences for the international community. Ethnic minorities across the globe could take advantage of the opportunity to write their own declarations of independence according to the Kosovo textual template. This would put them in a position to plausibly claim that such texts sufficiently legitimize their respective acts of secession, and for their proclaimed independence to be in conformity with international law.

Knowledge and process

Why does the idea of process loom so long and so large in the modern world? Surely proves of a particular kind is actually taking place around us and is becoming more and more manifest. Although mankind has undergone no general improvement in intelligence or morality, it has made extraordinary process in the accumulation of knowledge. Knowledge began to increase as soon as the thoughts of one individual could be communicated to another by means of speech. With the invention of writing, a great advance was made, for knowledge cold then be not only communicated but also stored. Libraries made education possible, and education in its turn added to libraries: the growth of knowledge followed a kind of compound interest law, which was greatly enhanced by the invention of printing. All this was comparatively slow until, with the coming of science, the tempo was suddenly raised. Then knowledge began to be accumulated according to a systematic plan. The trickle became a stream; the stream has now become a torrent. Moreover, as soon as new knowledge is acquired. What is called “modern civilization” is not the results of all man’s nature. The problem now facing humanity is: what is going to be done with all this knowledge? As is so often pointed out, knowledge is a two-edged weapon which can be used equally for good or evil. It is now being used indifferently for both.Cold any spectacle, for instance to shatter men’s bodies while, close at hand, surgeons use it to restore them? We have to ask ourselves very seriously what will happen if this twofold use of knowledge, with its ever-increasing power, continues. the cosby show dvd box set

Senators meet with British leader on Lockerbie convict's release

Four U.S. senators who met Tuesday with Prime Minister David Cameron said the British leader could still call for an independent investigation of last year's release by Scotland of a Libyan man convicted in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 people.
The senators from New York and New Jersey said Cameron spent 45 minutes discussing the matter with them in a meeting that was added to his schedule the night before.
"Our request for an independent investigation was still on the table," said Sen. Charles Schumer of New York. "It was not case-closed." charmed dvd
Cameron is in the United States on his first visit as Britain's leader. He met earlier Tuesday with President Barack Obama.
Most of the victims in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 were Americans. The flight was headed from Frankfurt, West Germany, to New York via London, England, when it exploded in the air.
Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi was convicted in the case and sentenced to life in prison. The Scottish government released al Megrahi on compassionate grounds last August after doctors said he had terminal prostate cancer and just three months to live.
Al Megrahi is still alive, and news reports in recent days have questioned whether he was as sick as depicted. Questions also have been raised about whether a deal was cut to release him to protect British business interests in Libya, possibly involving oil giant BP.
Under the Scotland Act 1998, Scotland has its own government that is responsible for most of the day-to-day issues there, including the justice system.
At a joint news conference earlier Tuesday, both Obama and Cameron blasted the decision by Scottish authorities to release al Megrahi.
Cameron promised that the British government will cooperate with a U.S. congressional investigation into the controversy, though he stressed that the decision to release al Megrahi was made by the Scottish government without any involvement from BP.
"There is absolutely no harm to be done in giving the fullest possible explanation" regarding the decision to release al Megrahi, Cameron said. He called the release a "misguided decision" by Scottish authorities.
Obama said most Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" about the decision to let al Megrahi go. the tribe dvd
The four senators said that questions over how al Megrahi could have survived almost a year and whether BP exerted influence in the case need to be answered. The Scottish government has insisted that BP never lobbied to free al Megrahi.
"We say there is a lot of circumstantial evidence -- no smoking gun -- strong circumstantial evidence, that something wrong happened here," Schumer said. "We don't think all the facts have come out."
Schumer was joined by fellow New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and New Jersey Sens. Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez. All are Democrats.
The senators released a letter Monday calling for the United Kingdom to launch a full investigation into al Megrahi's release and whether BP was involved. www.dvdorderonline.com

Republicans would have to win virtually every competitive race to retake the Senate, without losing any seats of their own—clearly an uphill climb. The trouble for Democrats is that many trends are against them. Surveys show that Republicans are more motivated than Democrats to go to the polls, and that voters are looking for new leadership in Congress. criminal minds dvd
"I think there is definitely a chance" of losing the Senate, said Democratic strategist Gary Nordlinger, a Washington-based media consultant. "I wouldn't call it a probability, but there is certainly a chance."
"Republicans still have to [win] all the competitive races in order to get to a majority, but at least there are enough seats on the table to pull it off," said Nathan Gonzales, political editor of the non-partisan Rothenberg Political Report.

Democratic politicians have been saddled with an economy that they'd hoped--and predicted--would be doing much better by now. And if Republicans retake one or both chambers of Congress, it would create a serious roadblock for President Barack Obama's agenda. But Republicans would also have greater responsibility for tackling stubborn problems such as the economy, energy and immigration.
As the races warmed up this spring and summer, Republicans raised more money than Democrats. In a dozen of the closest Senate contests reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, the GOP candidates as a group claimed 58% of contributions raised during the three-month period ending June 30. Democrats in those races, as a group, had a slim lead in total cash on hand.
Former Sen. Norm Coleman, a Minnesota Republican who lost his seat to onetime comedian Al Franken in 2008, is CEO of American Action Network, a conservative group that is spending about $750,000 to defeat three-term Sen. Patty Murray in Washington State. "Races like Wisconsin, California and Washington are clearly in play," Mr. Coleman said.
Many Democrats dismiss the notion that they're in danger of losing the Senate. "I believe that is wishful thinking," said Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey, who coordinates the Democrats' Senate campaigns. He added that the chances are minimal that Republicans would win so many of the seats in play while losing none of their own.
The math and the map show why Wisconsin, Washington and California are important.
Many Democratic strategists consider three seats all but lost—in North Dakota and Delaware, where popular Republicans are running for seats left open by Democratic departures, and in Arkansas, where Sen. Blanche Lincoln is trailing significantly in polls. criminal minds dvd box set

World Cup 2010: Uruguay's underdogs target third place

After the disappointment of narrowly losing a World Cup semi-final, it is hard to see how a team can muster the motivation for a game where third place is at stake. true blood seasons 1-3
For any side, however, it is surely a matter of pride and an opportunity to justify their privileged place among the last four.
Perhaps this applies most to Uruguay after the South Americans surprised many by reaching their first semi-final in 60 years. true blood seasons 1-3 dvd
"It is an opportunity to show what our football is worth," said coach Oscar Tabarez. true blood 1-3 dvd set
For Uruguay this game is also an opportunity to leave South Africa on a high and elevate their small nation on to the podium of modern World Cup history. Securing third place would also prove that the footballing style employed by Tabarez is working on the biggest of stages. true blood 1-3 box set
When he took charge of the team in 2006, Tabarez set to work on how to make the most of the energy and passion that now characterises the side.
Once defined as dirty, Uruguay's physical style of play was known for being fearsome and in many cases reckless, as Scotland's Gordon Strachan surely remembers from the 1986 World Cup in Mexico when a Uruguayan defender lunged into him from behind. true blood dvd 1-3
Tabarez has successfully converted this aggressive style into one of fair play that is able to exhaust rivals in midfield, hounded by players such as Egidio Arevalo, Diego Perez and Walter Gargano.
The team are ranked 16th in the world, behind countries who did not even qualify for the tournament, like Croatia, Russia and Egypt. true blood seasons 1-3 dvd box set

With Another Late Goal, Spain Finds New Heights

Before this tournament, Spain had never won a World Cup game tied 0-0 at halftime. It had never won four World Cup matches in a row, and it had never reached a World Cup semifinal. Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service DVD Boxset The 2008 European champion, Spain has accomplished all of these things in South Africa and, with a 1-0 victory over Paraguay in a quarterfinal Saturday night, helped reassert European dominance at this tournament.
Spain’s David Villa, the tournament’s leading scorer, netted his fifth goal after a series of pinballing shots off both goalposts in the 83rd minute. It was the second elimination game in a row that Spain endured a scoreless tie for most of the game only to advance after Villa scored late.
In the Round of 16, Villa’s opportunistic strike ousted Portugal.
This time, he sank a stubborn Paraguay team, one of four from South America in the final eight.
“We had all sorts of things happen in this match,” Spain midfielder Andrés Iniesta said. “It was decided in a very quick move — fortunately, in our favor.” Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service Seasons DVD Boxset
Iniesta helped unlock the game when his careening run into the Paraguay area drew sliding tackles from Enrique Vera and Antolín Alcaraz.
Iniesta avoided both defenders and pushed the ball to his right, where Pedro, a second-half substitute, shot well past goalkeeper Justo Villar but was denied by the left post. Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service Boxset
Villa got the rebound and ricocheted the ball off the right post, then the left, before it spun over the goal line for the game’s only score.
“He is always right there, with the ball, before anyone else,” Spain Coach Vincete Del Bosque said. “I thought we could have scored earlier when Iniesta just missed, but Villa had that hunger for goal that allowed him to convert.”
That hunger appears insatiable, as Villa has pressed forward in every game. He has had to carry an unbalanced load, scoring all but one of Spain’s six goals while his fellow striker Fernando Torres continues to struggle. Torres was replaced in the 56th minute Saturday in favor of another midfielder, Cesc Fàbregas. Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service DVD
“It was a very tough, very uncomfortable match,” Del Bosque said. “I wanted to have more men in the midfield so we could have more ball possession.”
This marks the first time Spain has reached the semifinals, where it will play Germany in a rematch of the 2008 European Championship final, which Spain won, 1-0. Germany trounced Argentina, 4-0, earlier on Saturday, and the Netherlands, which beat Brazil on Friday, gives Europe three teams in the semifinals. Uruguay is the only South American team to reach the semifinals.
“It’s an absolutely marvelous time for Spanish football,” Del Bosque said. “We hope to raise the quality of this game. We hope that our match with Germany, and the other semifinal match, will be a good advertisement for football.”
But Del Bosque did not discount the strides made by South American teams at this tournament.
“I don’t think there is that big of a difference between Latin American and European football,” he said, noting that Paraguay and Chile, which Spain faced in the first round, had frustrated his team.
“They really made the game uncomfortable for us,” he said. “They got us out of the match.” Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service Seasons 1-7
Indeed, against Paraguay, Spain’s possession was regularly disrupted. The game’s only goal was long delayed by Paraguay’s tenacious defense and two missed penalty kicks in the second half.
On the first, Spain defender Gerard Piqué dragged Paraguay forward Óscar Cardozo down and was shown a yellow card. But Cardozo’s penalty shot was saved by Iker Casillas. Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service Seasons 1-7 DVD Boxset
The fact that defender Sergio Ramos and Fàbregas had entered the box early went unnoticed by the referee, Carlos Batres of Guatemala.
While Cardozo chastised himself for missing, Spain counterattacked. Villa broke into the penalty area at the other end, where he was knocked to the ground by Alcaraz.
Xabi Alonso converted the penalty, but this time Batres whistled Fàbregas for encroaching. Alonso’s follow-up kick was saved by Villar.
It was a bizarre sequence that left Spain perturbed and Paraguay a bit unsettled.
When Villa, with help from Iniesta, Pedro and the posts, broke the deadlock, Paraguay was demoralized.
The Paraguayans mounted only one more assault, in the 89th minute, forcing Casillas to make a charging save on Roque Santa Cruz.
It would be the South Americans’ final chance, as the game ended with a series of petulant fouls by Paraguay. Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service Seasons 1-7 DVD Boxset
